EIFFEL TOWER

In Technology, we are learning about different types of structures, like frame or lattice structures using the Digital Text platform.

My Year 7 students are not only building an Eiffel Tower made with cork and toothpicks in the Technology room, but also they are writing a project to consolidate these topics.

I have taken them to the IT room to search for information about the original construction of this special monument known all around the world. 

They´ve learnt so much not only about the monument itself, but about the materials used, the money and tourism that it attracts every year, what this construction meant for the French society in the nineteenth century when it was built, who designed it and why it was erected. 

They have presented their projects in class. 

It turned out to be a great experience for all of us, learning in 3 different ways about The Eiffel Tower, its origin, structure, materials and characteristics.
