PAULA CAMPEONA EN PATINAJE ARTÍSTICO

El pasado fin de semana se celebró el Campeonato de España de Ballet de Patinaje artístico en el que participó Paula Díaz, alumna de 3º de ESO y en el que quedó subcampeona por equipos.

Hay que resaltar que en su categoría solo hay dos equipos, ya que es muy difícil alcanzar ese nivel por la dificultad de los saltos dobles requeridos, que no alcanza casi ningún patinador.

Desde el blog quiero felicitarte. Todo el colegio se enorgullece de contar con otra campeona en el deporte.

POEMAS EN 2º DE ESO

En este trimestre de lengua, en el taller literario, toda la clase de segundo hemos aprovechado que estábamos estudiando la métrica de los poemas para aplicarlo en uno realizado por nosotros.

Hemos escrito unos poemas, utilizando nuestra imaginación. Los mejores se han transcrito  a unas cartulinas y con  la ayuda de todos los hemos decorado y expuesto en el pasillo del colegio.

TRABAJOS DE RELIGIÓN 

La semana pasada empezamos a hacer un mapa conceptual sobre temas religiosos que podías elegir tu mismo.

Éramos 3 grupos y  cada uno cogimos uno de estos temas, los siete sacramentos, la verdad y la justicia  y al finalizarlo  lo expusimos delante de nuestros compañeros, explicando cada flecha y cada dibujo y las cosas que habíamos realizado. 

Nos hemos entretenido haciendo este trabajo con los compañeros y hemos aprendido más cosas sobre nuestra religión.

En este proyecto Lorena nuestra profesora de Religión, nos ha pedido que plasmemos en una cartulina un tema de los vistos en la asignatura, pero en forma de Mind Map.

Hemos trabajado en equipo y hemos aprendido mucho compartiendo ideas. Además nos lo hemos pasado muy bien.

YEAR 8 ENGLISH PROJECTS: MAGAZINE

As an English class project, our Year 8 students are working on a magazine.

They have picked the magazine section they want to work in by themselves such as: international, national and school news, gossip, fashion and sports.

We have taken them to the IT room to read daily news in English, find information for their article and have given them plenty of time to write and format their own article.

RESULTADOS Y MEDALLEROS DE LAS OLIMPIADAS DE VILLALBA

TENEMOS OTRA CAMPEONA: SARA

Tengo que comunicaros, con mucha alegría, que Sara Campoy alumna de 3º de ESO ha logrado la medalla de plata en el campeonato de la Comunidad de Madrid de Gimnasia rítmica por conjuntos.

Detrás de esta medalla hay muchos años de trabajo y entrenamiento, de sacrificio y tesón y por todo ello quiero darle la enhorabuena y felicitarla.

Es una chica muy alegre que siempre tiene una sonrisa en la cara y que contagia su alegría al resto, pero además esto ha de servir a todos sus compañeros de ejemplo puesto que el deporte es una disciplina sacrificada, pero muy satisfactoria.

SKYPING WITH THE STATES

As Tovia prepares to leave us, she has written a few words of gratitude to Ofelia Barreiro, our Director of Studies, for helping her to organise a wonderful skype session  shared  by  our   Year 11  students   and   Tovia´s classmates in the States.

We share Tovia´s enthusiasm, and hope this will be a long-lasting relationship.

Here is Tovia´s letter:

Hi Ophelia,

I just wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to share what I have been doing here for the past few months with my class in the States.

I am very happy to tell you that I think the skype session went very well- we skyped for over an hour! In the skype session, we used both English and Spanish to communicate- my classmates at GDS (my school in the States) asking questions in Spanish, while my classmates here responding to them in English (because my classmates in the U.S have very limited Spanish knowledge- only studying the language for two years). After the initial question and answer stage, my classmates here performed some of the dances that they will be performing at the end of the year showcase as well as a couple of poems that they have been working on- in English.

I have also received many emails from different administrators and teachers in my school, telling me how impressed they are with my class here, and how they would also love to skype sometime or become pen pals.

Both my classmates here and my classmates in the States are also going to exchange email addresses and facebook addresses- to keep in contact. I am very excited to see where this leads.

Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity and I hope both these amazing schools can keep in contact- even after I return to the states.
